REDAING- Alpha 4 (2)

2nd week:

Dear Students of Alpha 4 ,

We have read a text about giving name and namesaking. Do you want to give your name to your child? If you were one of the those characters in the passage – (you were named for your father or mother), what would you feel? Would you want to change it or not? Why?
Deadline is 13.02.12

Enjoy your holiday!
All the best…

  1. Last reading lesson's text, really strange but very real. Because, this inherited is different inherited. This time the inherited is a name.. Yes, this name is descend from father to son. I was quite surprised because I have heard for the first time... This custom is a name from father to son. I read the text and I was quite astonished. For example my name is Çağrı and my son's name is Çağrı and my grand-baby's name is Çağrı... etc. In my opinion this custom is quite queer but I agree with author. According to the researches for example My father's name is Gürkök and I took the name of my father and I more mature than other brother and sister or other children. And I totally agree this research on the other hand I depend my parents and family. This subject is really interesting. Next, more parents are trust first child and first child is more hardworking than other siblings. I think, that's false I don't agree because I'm a firs child and I'm not hardworking person and I'm not mature. Finally, this text is very good but I don't agree some part but I agree some part. This topic is very cultural and this topic is quiet amazing and real.

  2. In my opinion, this topic is absürd, but it is common our culture. It can be advantages or disadvantages. First of all, the names influence people of character. For example, Yosma, Hanım, Senbilin, Tanrıverdi... etc. Why do they give this name to their children? This names can be mother, grandmother, or father, grandfather. However, it is very wrong. Maybe, the children can not want to call of mother name or father name. However, some children can be happy with mother and father names, but I have never see to can be happy with name of their father and mother..:)

If my father name and my name is same ,maybe it will be enjoyable. My mother call me and my father came.I don't change my name also that time i give my name to my son.

  4. We read “Junior Status: Sharing Dad’s Name a Mixed Bag”. This topic tells at first same name a little annoying with father. Jose Martinez Jr. got his father successful man and he also want to like his father. Paragraph has a many special things about this topic but I want to some special things about my life in other words my grandfather’s surname SAHIN and my grandfather SAHIN family’s last male member. His uncle’s hasn’t had any son. He has four sisters and three cousins. He has been grandson since 1993. He kept the values alive therefore he gave Sahin name me. I was gave Sahin name by my grandfather.

  5. My opinion of this reading text is complicated and It includes many example. If I was the author I give less example and I use simple words Also, To name your father or mother is very common in the world. For example My grandfather, my uncle and my uncle's son are sharing same name and My favorite part was '54 year old Samuella Becker can relate. Her father, Samuel died of cancer four months before she was born in 1954. Her mother decided to honor his memory by giving their girl a feminized version of his name. This is sensible atitude. Although I like this reading text , ıt is complicated

  6. We read “Junior Status: Sharing Dad’s Name a Mixed Bag”.I think, names affect personal features.ı do not like chosen words and I was confused , when I have read the first time. This hard for me .I believe this book includes very common thing. This is very common in Turkey. Some people are taken their grandfather's names, they believe child looks like namesake grandfather. In conclusion ,if I were the author I'd try to find interesting topic. This situation very common in Turkey because of that. I was bored.

  7. n the text the author game some specific examples about this issue. Some of the parents choose the same names because they want their children to have same good character. Some of them want to honor death relatives. At the early ages, when they go to school they can be affected in a bad way if they are named with female or male version of their relatives' name.To set an example, if a child and her or his cousins are named by the same way, it is possible that they are not able to understand which of them is called out.
